So, you want to be a better English writer. You are in the right place. Help is here.
Before we get started, let's look at two essential questions: (1) What kind of writing are you interested in? (2) How are your basic writing skills? The second question is important because a lot of Chinese people tell me they want to write magazine articles, academic journals, or even novels. They are so focused on improving their writing skills for their specific area of writing that they neglect the basics of writing. I have taught academic writing classes where students expected me to teach them how to write a PhD dissertation, but those same students were unable to write simple informal letters without making serious mistakes. Academic, or some other type of English writing, may be your long-term goal, but I highly recommend you first check your basic English skills. One of the best ways to do this is to read the book featured on the right, 美国老师教你写出好英文. For academic writing, be sure to read the other book on the right, 英语学术期刊论文写作原理. Here is your chance to read a good academic article published by the Science Publishing Group's International Journal of Language and Linguistics. The title of this article, written by Li Fengjie and Zhang Yingying, is Chinglish in College English Writing: Problem Analysis and Solutions. To read this article, click here.
